We’ve been giving to various city causes thus far this week, but there’s no sacrifice quite like rolling up one’s sleeves and getting to work oneself. We’ll start at the Food Bank for New York City at 39 Broadway, whose main office needs volunteers and is redistributing them where they’re needed. (We’ll be toting a few jars of peanut butter and canned peaches, too.) Later on, we’ll be consulting redcrossblood.org for the best location to give blood—there’s always a need, and we get a cookie afterward! We’ve instructed the kids to go buy as many AA batteries and flashlights as they can to donate to the Neighbors Allied for Good Growth drop-off at 46 Hester Street, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
