Clik here to view. It’s debutante time at the 72nd Bal des Berceaux, where young women come out (to society, not out of the closet) under the high patronage of His Excellency François Delattre, the ambassador of France to the United States and Bertrand Lortholary, the consul general of France in New York. Over 350 fancy French and Francophile New Yorkers will watch the bright young things make their debut. The evening is called “Children Come First,” and its proceeds, in association with French-American Aid for Children, benefit a variety of charities like the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club, The Children’s Village and The Children’s Storefront. Through ticket sales, a live auction and a raffle, the night raises over $500,000 each year.
The Plaza Hotel, 768 Fifth Avenue, (212) 759-3000, 7pm, by invitation only, tickets start at $700 for an “Angel” supporter.
