Hark, the hoi polloi sing! The Hark Society presents the Emerald Tie Gala, which is very timely, as emerald green has been officially dubbed the color of 2013 by Pantone, truly the final word on all things colorful. There will be a four-hour open bar, a deejay and lots of raffle prizes, and all the proceeds go to PASE, a nonprofit organization that helps after-school education—which we used to call study hall and actually bummed us out. Tickets are being sold at the very odd number of $129, and a pack of three raffle tickets is $12. And you need to sport black tie, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear an emerald green Charvet bow tie or an emerald green gown by Derek Lam.
