She would’ve made the front page of the Daily Bugle for sure.

Upstate New York mom Victoria Goreaciuc used her sense of smell in court as she testified against a Times Square Spiderman for allegedly assaulting her. The incident came after she refused to tip him for posing in photos with her children, the New York Post reports.

She told a Manhattan court that she can ID her attacker because she remembers the nasty scent of his costume.

“The smell is very distinctive?” Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Anthony Ferrara asked her after she was presented with an evidence bag containing the suspect’s costume on Monday.

“Yes,” she replied.

“You remember that smell?” the judge asked after she took a whiff of the superhero costume belonging to Phillip Williams, a 36-year-old man from Williamsburg.

“Yes,” she repeated.

The incident happened on Feb. 10, 2013 outside of the Toys “R” Us on Broadway and 44th Street after Mr. Williams, dressed in his Spiderman costume, posed for pictures with Ms. Goreaciuc’s kids. Mr. Williams asked for a tip and when Ms. Goreaciuc declined, prosecutors said Mr. Williams responded with “You’re crap!”

Ms. Goreaciuc then entered the Toys “R” Us, but got angry after her children asked if she heard what Spidey had said. She found Mr. Williams outside, asked “Why did you call me that?”, then threw a snowball at him. Mr. Williams, still dressed as the web-slinger, slugged Ms. Goreaciuc and fled.

Mr. Williams’ defense lawyer claimed that Ms. Goreaciuc sniffed out the wrong Spidey, even if she claimed to know his scent.

If convicted at a no-jury trial, Mr. Williams will be slinging his way to a 90-day jail sentence.
