Limited-edition Vacheron Constantin White Lily watch ($131,000).

More than merely floral, hothouse flower motifs are dramatic explosions of color so vivid it takes a few seconds to absorb their brilliance. The spring runways of Dolce & Gabbana, Hermès, Peter Pilotto and more were dotted with heady botanical prints, cementing the style as a keynote for this summer.

Fine watchmakers Vacheron Constantin complemented this summer’s blooms with the Metiers d’Art Florilege trilogy, three watches featuring botanical  illustrations. The White Lily (pictured here) in 18K white gold comprises a diamond set bezel and hand-enameled face. The lily in the center has been carefully copied from an illustration in Robert John Thornton’s The Temple of Flora, a book of botanical illustrations, published in England in 1799. The book is a key inspiration for artists of  all genres, featuring plants set against luminously colorful backgrounds. As a tribute to the ongoing power of the book, Vacheron Constantin created this limited-edition set.

Fashion-wise, exotic blooms are perennials. Along with nautical stripes, safari-inspired khaki and animal prints, botanicals are never far from summer’s fashion epicentre. Here comes the shopping excuse; this stunning accessory will guarantee you stay on top of summery trends forever.
