Mick Jagger’s girlfriend L’Wren Scott was found dead in her New York apartment, New York Post reports. A former model, the stylist and designer’s death is being presumed a suicide.
Ms. Scott, 49, had used a handkerchief to hang herself in the bathroom of her apartment on West 24th, according to reports. She had recently canceled her London Fashion Week show, citing that she had not gotten the materials in time. She had texted an assistant earlier in the morning, telling her to “come by.”
Over the course of her career, Ms. Scott had designed clothes for First Lady Michelle Obama, Amy Adams and Nicole Kidman. She met Mr. Jagger in 2001, and she had won acclaim for her smart designs, couture collections and elite clientele. When reached for comment, Mr. Jagger told reporters through a spokesperson that he was “completely shocked and devastated” by the news of her death.
