As much as we love Fashion Week, anyone who has ever been to the shows will tell you that it’s not an easy stroll down the tents. Instead, you have to contend with late start times, harried ticket scanners, dying electronics (due to lack of outlets at Lincoln Center/Eyebeam), and a myriad of other FW-related crises. In that spirit, we’re covering this season’s Fashion Week with YOU in mind, sending our intrepid reporters out to cover the important aspects of the shows…well, the ones that have nothing to do with the clothes.

Comments: Backstage was efficient thanks to LaForce & Stevens. Front of house was crowded but c'est la vie.

Comments:Nada. I saw two great zigzag fox furs With leather lapels! I guess if you're young, curvy yet valet and can't even begin to afford Alaïa then this is your saving grace.

Comments: I actually liked the collection ; felt wearable but interesting with a good fit.
Some heavy Dior references yet felt very New York with a touch of ladylike panache.

Comments: Again, a smooth operating KCD affair.

Comments: The winners were knitwear-fur combos and cape coats in rich Chinese clay hues.

Comments: There was a naked streaker in a trench coat who interrupted the beginning looks -- directly in front of the photo pit. He wore a gold crown and was tackled off in the blink of an eye!

Comments: Always a spectacle! This time there were new-age, operatic chanteurs strapped to high-tech automated moving stilts, lights and creeping sound: a full on art installation!

Comments: The set and theatrics didn't distract the cool alpine friendly clothes.
Fashion weeks are exceedingly redundant so Moncler was fascinating. No swag that would be too good to be true.

Comments: In keeping with the backlash against blogger-bait, Jill Stuart's collection was pretty, but wearable. I liked that the show was set to electronic mixes of IO echo and Warpaint. But it was just hard to find my place there. (Read on..)

Comments: Ushers' commitment to keeping the riffraff away: 5.
I had been told about the show at the last minute, so I did not have a media pass on me. The IMG usher matter-of-factly stated that I had to line up all the way in the back. "It is too late to get media credential now." Luckily, I found the PR for the show, who endorsed me to the bouncers. I got in, but the risers in front of the catwalk were already packed. "You got in too late, you gotta stand around the corner," said a man in black. (I didn't bother to protest that I came from another show.) Since the lights were still dimmed, I thought I'd go over to the runway instead to snap a photo of Anna Kendrick in the front row. "I need you off the runway unless you have one of these," said a floor marshal, pointing to a badge with a blue border, on which was scrawled JS--Jill Stuart. See also: Just Scram (?)
3. Attention to detail:

Comments: A sheer blouse with macro-polka-dots over swiss dots went over well with the audience, but my favorites were the mid-length A-line skirts. Made of suede and leather, the ankle grazers had an exposed zipper in the middle to show a little leg. The same closure appeared on some lovely high necked crepe blouses, too, except they were (surprise) in the back, undone all the way up to between the shoulder blades.

Comments: Suede, fur, silk and leather lend themselves well to sweater weather, something much pined for by fashion week attendees who are dressing like it is spring.
5. Additional comments: Just to end my saga with security, best part was right before the models came out. This bald man in a suit speaks with urgency into his mic: "Close the doors out front guys, nobody else gets entry." Static crackle. The Lincoln Center is a safe haven, guys. Over and out.

Couldn't tell but every Vogue editor, stylist and fashion director you can dream up. We thought there we're some indie music artists too.

Upon arrival at Duggal Greenhouse guests could enjoy Crown Royal and cocktails (we opted for juice and Fiji Water)
In addition to the unconventional location (à la mode Parisienne) there were three invite or photo ID checkpoints. It was the most drama-free entrance yet-- kudos to KCD!
3. Attention to detail (Gift bags, runway set, clothes):

Comments: Cool air condition shaft as center piece and a circular center piece that moved the final looks in a circle like a lazy Susan.
The clothes were the best I've seen yet. Some of the utilitarian and cargo touches were a bit overdone; but incredible sweaters, coats and platform, knee high- backless booties.Best model casting you'll see until Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren or Calvin Klein.
