Fashion Week is one of the best weeks of the year to be in New York. I love the feeling of the fashion industry coming together to celebrate the new collections. It’s a great moment for every American designer, big and small. The New York Observer asked me to share my plans for the coming days.
I will continue press previews and finalize the model casting, and the P.R. team will update me on the guest list and seating chart. One of favorite parts of every show is selecting the music, and today we’ll also finalize the track list for Monday’s show. Music is an important part of the brand’s heritage and one of the things that inspired me to become a designer when I was still in high school. Every season, we spend hours listening to tracks to find music that embodies the collection. The right music really completes the show experience.
Dee and I will have dinner that night on the Upper East Side with our good friend and the new president of Saks Fifth Avenue, Marigay McKee. We hosted her at our home in Mustique recently and had an amazing time.
