Remember when enthusiasm for Super Bowl XLVIII was alive and well, with Broncos and Seahawks fans alike taking to the streets to share in a joint feeling of revelry and excitement? Remember a time before 43-8 flashed on our screens and NY/NJ's first super bowl was one of the most highly anticipated of all time?
Remember Super Bowl Boulevard?
Recall how the NFL's logo rose high above Broadway, declaring proudly that the Big Apple finally had its own Super Bowl and that it was here to stay. (But like literally, because the snow is stranding thousands of people in the state.)
Reminisce fondly on those who lined up for hours for the opportunity to kick a football through actual regulation size NFL uprights. (Which, by the way, if someone made just one they would have Bronco's kicker Matt Prater's Super Bowl performance beat.)
Look back warmly on the Super Bowl Boulevard toboggan ride, which allowed visitors and locals a chance to gleefully slide down its 160-foot face. (Which sounds long, but isn't as long as Malcolm Smith's 69 yard interception return that pretty much sealed the Bronco's fate.)
We'll always remember Super Bowl Boulevard and all its hype. All the glorious, anti-climatic hype.
