Ten years ago, CineKink started out with the idea of showcasing the best in kinky film, as well as recognizing and encouraging “sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television.” At this special anniversary celebration, they’re showing A Decade of Decadence, which features one film from each year of the festival, including Pornographic Apathetic, Hitchcocked, Tooshie Smooshie (I have not personally seen these, but how can you go wrong with these fun titles?) and the newly restored edition of one of my favorite campy films, Preaching to the Perverted, which stars Guinevere Turner as dominatrix Tanya Cheex. What I’ve appreciated about CineKink, at which I’ve been a panelist, is that the environment is truly welcoming to all; you need have no prior knowledge of kink to appreciate the sexually provocative images onscreen. Budding filmmakers, visit cinekink.com for details on how you can submit your work to future festivals.
