Lady Rizo.

Lady Rizo.

If you’ve never been to a Lady Rizo show, you are in for a treat. If you have, you know the she goes all out to seduce the crowd with her gorgeous voice, fun banter and charismatic charm. You never know what she’ll belt out and make her own, from Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors” to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.” Make sure you catch her at Joe’s Pub for the release of her first album, Violet, which features a duet with Reggie Watts. Joining Rizo tonight will be Justin Johnston, Crystal Monee Hall, members of Well Strung and likely some surprise guests. When she asks, do volunteer to help her change outfits onstage—you won’t be sorry! Rizo told The Observer, “The album is the first of a spectrum series, titled by the colors seen in a prism or rainbow.  It is a loose album series, and this is the first. The songs on the album combine to reflect a tonal or emotional core of that color. In the spirit of Yair Evnine’s gorgeous arrangements for our songs on the album, we will have horns and strings in addition to the band.” I’d say this is a special evening, because surely the blond bombshell has a few tricks up her sleeve. But having seen her perform at Joe’s Pub, as well as in London, I can safely say that every Lady Rizo show is a special one.

Joe’s Pub, 425 Lafayette Street, 212-539-8778, 9:30 p.m., $2
