Last weekend, NY1 anchor and New York institution Pat Kiernan hosted something a little different. “Scarlet Mathilde Cronin and Matt Sullivan were married Saturday at Oak Hill, an estate in Hudson, N.Y.,” read the Times wedding announcement. “Pat Kiernan, a Universal Life minister and an anchor on NY1, the New York City cable news channel, officiated.”
The bride works at the Clinton Global Initiative. The groom is a staff editor in the editorial department at the Times. The groom’s mother is a media consultant, and his father retired as the executive editor of MSNBC.
“Matt and Scarlet knew that they wanted something fun and nonreligious,” Mr. Kiernan told OTR. “So that’s what we did. Those who knew them loved it.”
We imagine the wry Canadian anchor well known for his “In the Papers” segment was equally enjoyable to watch anchoring a wedding.
