The New York Times is looking for some New York-based authors to feature in their "Sunday Routine" column, where "prominent New Yorkers recount their weekend rituals." Nice to know that writers are still considered prominent New Yorkers!
"Looking for a few good authors (NYC residents) to star in our Sunday Routine column this summer," book publishing reporter Julie Bosman tweeted today. "Publishing PR people, pitch away."
Just last weekend, Ms. Bosman wrote about the novelist Meg Wolitzer's Sunday routine, which includes "a bit of writing and various stages of loll," as well as some Joan Baez-style singing, a cheap massage and margaritas. Overall, it sounds like Ms. Wolitzer, who recently published The Interestings, has delightfully pleasant Sundays.
Sounds like there will be more openings for writers in "Sunday Routine" columns coming up. We imagine that publicity assistants at book imprints across the city just got a lot busier.
